Optimization of Rhombus Opening Area of Shear Walls On Tall Buildings

This research was designed to determine the optimum percentage and configuration of rhombus opening on shear wall tall building. A residential building 12-storeys having base size 20m × 10m with height floor 3m analyzed. In this paper, percentages 12%, 24%, 36%, 42%, 54% concentric in a buildings were modeled. The effect lateral displacement, shear, stress at determined. It found that 12% has less opening. indicates delivers best performance among other percentages. Five models same different modeled walls. Model-1 is since model lowest displacement can be concluded area resist force buildings.
